This might sound odd coming from a Fashion Blogger, but on most days, I hate getting dressed. Don’t get me wrong, #CasaGC is no secret nudist colony in downtown Toronto, but, the truth is, there’s nothing that drives me crazier than taking a long time to get ready. In my ideal world, I can be ready from head to toe in under 10 minutes. Sometimes, that can even include a shower! My days are filled with an aggressively busy schedule, and unfortunately I just don’t have the time or patience to reserve upwards of an hour for finding a cute look, and doing my hair and makeup.
I think this is most likely why I like to find my key pieces and ‘look’, and stick with them. Getting ready (and looking pretty damn great) is easier, when you don’t really have to think about it. For beauty, I like a fresh blowout, good clean skin, and a bold red lipstick. Done! An outfit? I want to grab something great off the hanger that I can slip into and instantly be ready to run out the door once I grab a pair of shoes, my trusty moto jacket, and a great back. Easy!
But what makes a piece of clothing right for simply grabbing it off the hanging and slipping it on? The answer is: The Jumpsuit. I LIVE for the jumpsuit and always have. I think the one good thing about having a short torso is that a jumpsuit always works on my body, whether it’s short sleeve, long sleeve, full legs or shorts. I truly enjoy anything that provides me with a full look in one go, which is exactly what the jumpsuit provides for you.
For this reason, I am constantly on the lookout for the perfect jumpsuit. It’s basically my version of the ‘Little Black Dress’. Recently, I found my new favourite from a brand spankin’ new online store called Chance & Fate, based right here in Toronto.
I knew the minute I saw it that I had to have this Kelly Love jumpsuit. I mean, not only is it black and made of silk, but look at those bell sleeves! And that high collar!
I love that the Founder of Chance & Fate, Michelle Wilson, recently decided to quit her job as a business consultant to pursue her dream of opening a stylish online store for women. Originally, she had thought this dream would be reserved for when she retired, but then realised there was no reason to wait and she should do it now! I’m a big believer in going after what you want in life, and I’m so excited for Michelle and her new company.
If you are interested in checking out the pieces from Chance & Fate in person, don’t miss the pop-up shop with jewellery designer Lucia Rose this weekend at Souvenir Studios! For more information on the event, please click HERE.
See you there!
