Although going to events is part of everyday life for #TeamGC, it’s not every day that you get invited to an event that truly takes your breath away. This was the case at the recent Stella Artois dinner hosted by Celebrity Interior Designer, Nate Berkus, in Toronto’s Bridal Path area that was so incredible it literally had us gasping for air.
With a special menu created by Chef Patrick Kriss of Alo, we felt like legit royalty as we dined in the garden of a palatial château (that’s currently on the market for $35 Million btw) on a beautiful summer night. For dinner, we were treated to the most delectable wagyu ribeye, the juiciest torched hamachi and the freshest Hokkaido sea urchin — seriously, this meal was one for the books!
With Oprah‘s favourite decorator setting the scene, to say Nate Berkus’ party ambiance was idyllic would be a serious understatement. We loved the picturesque table settings he created with flowers in low gold vases so guests were able see each other and still have intimate conversations. So simple, but so smart. Right?
As Nate explained, when he hosts he likes to provide guests with a signature drink to savour the special evening and at this party guests enjoyed Stella Artois in signature chalices along with the new Stella Artois Cidre which is sweet, refreshing and perfect for a summer soirée.

Nate Berkus’ Top 3 Hosting Tips:
Ingenuity and Inspiration
- Hosting a great dining experience means putting thought, care and detail into everything, from the meal to the presentation, intricate décor to the drinks. Give yourself enough time to plan your dinner menu and determine what you need.
Consider the details
- Hosting a special event that people will remember is always about the details and making sure your guests feel taken care of, and that starts with the perfect table setting.
- Ensure guests are provided with a special drink to savour the moment. When it comes to serving drinks, I like to bring something special to the table, like Stella Artois served in its Chalice.
