Gold is something I’ll never ever tire of, whether it’s the karat count of my jewellery or the theme of a decor setting. Gold is just GLAM, plain and simple (although it looks anything but) and my ears instantly perked up when I heard about a new gold-infused beer that’s just been released by Innis & Gunn for the holiday season. Their new  limited edition Frank & Sense beer is actually made with real gold (like, whut.) and comes bottled and packaged so beautifully that it inspired me to create a gold-themed table setting that’s perfect for your next holiday dinner party.

Trust me, you’re going to want to make this unique new beer the star of your holiday dinner party, so here are 5 easy ways to create a gold-themed table setting that let’s the Innis & Gunn Frank & Sense bottles shine for your guests to admire, and enjoy.

Set The Mood with Gold Candles

When I’m in a rush and don’t have the time to decorate a table, my go-to for instant mood-setting is adding a cluster of candles to the dining table. While classic white candles always look chic, the holiday season makes it easy to find gold candles that will immediately enhance your gold table setting.

Decorate with Gold Ornaments

Not sure what to use to decorate your table? No problem. Do as I do and simply pluck ornaments from your holiday tree and place them sporadically throughout your table. Thankfully, most ornaments are easy to find and inexpensive to purchase at this time of year, so you can always look for new ones that work for your table. Try to stick to similar or the same styles, although you can try playing around wth varying sizes for a dynamic effect.

Assign Seats with Frank & Sense

There’s just something about assigned seating that makes a dinner party feel fancier. As soon as I saw the beautiful details on the Innis & Gunn Frank & Sense bottles I immediately pictured them being incorporated into the table setting itself. So instead of simply handing your guest a cold beer, why not have it ready and waiting for them when they take a seat at the table? I used simple gift tags with gold detail on each beer to help dinner guests find their names and assigned seats.

Use Gold Place Mats and Napkins

Investing in new gold plates and cutlery may not be something you’re prepared to do for a holiday party (although cheers to you if you are!) so any easy and inexpensive solution is to look for gold place mats and gold napkins instead. Like the candles, these little details will help create that insta-glam look without breaking the bank.

Decorate Your Dish with Gold Flake

Now, here’s a detail that will require a bit of pre-planning (and slight investment) but will, like the gold-infused beer, delight and surprise your guests. I love Innis & Gunn’s brilliant idea of infusing gold into their beer and it sparked the idea to add gold to my dish. In the case, I chose to decorate a homemade chocolate glazed cake with delicate gold leaf to complete my table setting. Be forewarned that gold leaf is not as easy to find as you might think and it can be tedious to work with. Track it down or order it online well before you need it.

And there you have it! A simple and easy gold-themed table setting to create for your next holiday dinner party that beer connoisseurs, design snobs and foodies can all revel in together. In case you’re wondering what you can expect from Innis & Gunn’s Frank & Sense beer in terms of taste, expect a golden ale that’s packed full of a lovely hop and malt character, infused with Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh for a luscious malt with flavours of rich buttered toast and toffee popcorn on the palate.

Innis & Gunn Frank & Sense beer can be found now (for a limited time) in liquor stores across Canada for $7.99 each.

Happy Holidays and please remember to always enjoy responsibly!
