It was a sad, sad day when Domenico and Stefano announced the discontinuation of D&G (a Gracie favourite!) but, luckily, it is still possible to get your hands on their sunglasses which are a go-to for me. Last summer, I found their amazing purple gingham sunglasses at Tokio7 in NYC. This year, I got my hands on these oversized cat eyes from SmartBuyGlasses.

These are especially exciting to me because they are they exact same pair (despite colour) that my NYC bestie Squirrel has, and we always love to be twinsies from head to toe. Cheesy, we know, but who cares. Not only does SmartBuyGlasses offer designer eyeglasses at up to 40% off, but for every pair of glasses sold, they donate a pair to those in need. Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs and more for a good cause? Hello!

Currently I’m in Vancouver for the weekend, and here is me having a Coveteur moment with my D&G sunglasses and new 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli satchel in my pimpin’ suite at the OPUS Hotel in Vancouver’s Yaletown. If you’ve got some favourite spots in the city, please share your recommendations, I’d love to hear about them!

Make sure you go explore Gastown & Chinatown, visit One of a Few & Charlie & Lee for shopping, Wildebeest & Bao Bei for food, & The Keefer Bar & The Diamond for cocktails!

Thanks for the great tips Romany!
‘Lombardo’s’ on Commercial Drive has amazing home made pasta with ingredients from Italy. While on Commercial browse the stores, they have some vintage shops as well as some boutiques that carry local designer jewlerry.
Yaletown has many delicous restaurants as well, my favorite is ‘The Flying Pig’.
Robson Street offers many selections of stores, check out Holt Renfrew in the Pacific Center mall.
Gastown has many boutiques worth checking out and the Steamworks brew pub has fishbowls of sangria’s.
My favorite place to connect with nature in downtown Vancouver is Vandusen Botanical Gardens (fall is beautiful time to go). Right now they are also featuring a green project by local Nicole Dextras – wire mannequins of real womens measurements featuring dresses made fully out of nature – berries, plants, leaves, floral. While there you can enjoy ‘afternoon tea’ service overlooking the gardens.
If you like fondue you can check out the all you can eat chocolate fondue at Capstone Tea in Vancouver (also a location in Richmond).
If you time to check out Richmond and if you are here for the weekend I believe it is the last weekend for the Richmond Night Market – great cheap food, and lot’s of cheap buys and they usually feature local bands and performers.
If your interested in checking out a movie Scotiabank theater downtown is awesome as well the theater in the Tinseltown mall (which features many artwork studios).
If your looking to get a haircut while here ‘Ignite’ by Stadium skytrain is amazing!!
If your looking for some diner food check out ‘Save on Meats’ on Hastings (recently redone) and features amazing diner food. The restaurant was featured on the show ‘Diners, Drive in’s and Dives’ and they have a homemade chuck patty burger with homemade buns and whiskey sauce with fries for $6 – prepare to wait for a table though.
Browsing the streets of Vancouver at night around Robson is really fun, night life is pretty bustling in Vancouver on the busy streets, even at night.
Opus is a beautiful hotel – enjoy your stay!!
