I must admit, I’ve never been a huge fan of visiting Ottawa. Up until recently, the nation’s capital didn’t have much appeal to me as a travel destination, because, to be honest, I thought it was a truly boring city. But everything changed when I jetted off to O-Town in early September to spend 48 hours at the brand new Andaz Ottawa Hotel in Byward Market, just in time for the hotel’s grand opening party.
There was an instant attraction to the hotel as soon I walked through the front doors; I fell in love with the hotel’s modern boutique feel, even though it’s hardly ’boutique’ with 200 rooms available for their guests.
Most of all, I was completely blown away by the hotel’s commitment to emphasizing contemporary Canadian design while working with as many local Canadian designers, brands and talents as possible. According to the Andaz team, they put the same effort into working as locally as possible for each of their properties around the world, making each and every one of their locations incredibly unique and completely different from one another. A total selling point, and great reason to visit all of them in my opinion!

Whether you’re heading to Ottawa for work, family, or fun, I would highly recommend a stay at Andaz Ottawa Byward Market. Even if you don’t leave the hotel (like I did), you’re guaranteed to have an amazing time and be well taken care of by the team of incredibly nice and helpful staff in this beautiful property.
